Mauree Grace and Jamie Thomson joins Paal Kit Homes in Queensland

Jamie Thomson is Paal’s new housing consultant in Queensland and northern New South Wales. He succeeds Phillip Longhurst, who sadly passed away in late 2018.

Jamie already knows Paal well, having worked for ten years as a supplier to the company’s customers in the areas of raised flooring systems, footings and foundations.

Based with Mauree Grace at our display centre in Caboolture, he now brings this knowledge – together with a background in hardware, electrical and lighting – to help our customers plan and build their own kit homes throughout Queensland.

“I’m enjoying taking customers through the entire process, from thinking about the project, through to choosing a design, finding the right block, adapting the design to the site, receiving council approvals, and actually constructing the house,” he says.

“Each homebuilder has unique ideas and an individual timeline. It’s my pleasure to help them achieve their chosen ambitions.”

Jamie has confidence in the Queensland region, knowing it’s a growth area with a strong economy and many people moving there from other parts of Australia.

“There are plentiful rural blocks that are very well suited to the Paal range of homes. About 85 percent of our customers build out of town – a higher ratio than in other states.”

He views kit homes as continuing to have a great future. “People are looking to get the best value for their money, while at the same time relishing the opportunity to apply their own design ideas, contribute their skills and finish up with exactly the house they want.”

Jamie is personable, friendly and knowledgeable. He has a strong work ethic and understands the different requirements of each customer. “The challenge of creating the right design for each site and client is what drives me. Seeing this come to fruition also gives me a lot of satisfaction.”

Jamie is a family man who in his spare time enjoys squash and ten-pin bowling.
